When the apostle Paul registered advice for how to turn a typical “household” into a “Christian household/home,” we glimpse the beginning of Christian wisdom on a variety of topics. That’s Monday.
When everyone seems to have turned to how Jewish was Paul’s theology and teaching, others were working out what Paul looked like in the Greco-Roman world. One of the more recent developments has been to plunge Paul into the world of Stoicism, and on Tuesday we look at new, accessible book about this topic.
If you take a look at what Christian living is actually like for those in your community and circles, you will discover — usually not creeds and confessions — but “lived” theology. The lived theology of a suburban and urban life will not be identical. On Wednesday we look at what a lived theology is like for those in a shelter in Durham NC.
As is becoming more common, I need to leave Thursday open so I can adjust to what’s happening in our world. At some point I will be commenting on the Christianity Today story but it is clear to me the facts are not entirely known yet. Perhaps we’ll learn more this week.
