Today’s Gospel is Matthew 25:31-46, from The Second Testament

Yēsous tells a story about goats and sheep

Whenever the Son of Humanity comes in his splendor and all the envoys with him, then he will sit on his splendorous throne, and all the ethnic groups will be assembled before him, and he will isolate them from one another, just as a shepherd removes sheep from goats, and he will locate the sheep at his right but the goats at his left.

Then the king will say to those at his right, ‘Come! Blessed ones by my Father. Inherit the Empire prepared for you from the Kosmos’s origin. For I hungered and you gave me to eat, I thirsted and you gave me to drink, I was an outsider and you assembled me, naked and you covered me, I was weak and you cared for me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous ones will respond to him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungering and nurture you, or thirsting and we gave you a drink? When did we see you as an outsider and assemble you, or naked and cover you? When did we see you weak or in prison and came to you?’

Responding, the king will say to them, ‘This is true to say to you: Whatever you did to one of these my siblings, the least, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those at his left, ‘Journey from me—cursed ones. You are prepared for the Era’s fire, what is prepared for the Accuser and his envoys. For I hungered and you didn’t give me to eat, I thirsted and you didn’t give me to drink, I was an outsider and you didn’t assemble me, naked and you didn’t cover me, weak and in prison and you didn’t care for me.’ Then they will also respond, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungering or thirsting or an outsider or naked or weak or in prison and we did not serve you?’ Then he will respond to them, saying, ‘This is true to say to you: Whenever you didn’t do to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.’

These will go away into the Era’s chastisement, but the righteous ones into the Era’s Life.”
