Coming This Week, 2.23–2.26
We return this week from the warmth of Florida to the, we-shall-see weather in Chicagoland. I always bring my golf clubs. This last week Kris, her sister Pat, and I drove up to the golf course’s driving range where Pat and I hit a bucket. Kris sat in the shade and observed the bustle of golfers finishing up or starting out. Golfers are special lot. We hit balls into a big lake with no markers to inform us of our distances. I used my range finder, which I have learned to use with some accuracy, and spent most of the time hitting my pitching wedge and some knock-down seven irons. To finish off I yanked out the driver, hit a few, and was so pleased with straight-as-an-arrow drives that I left a few golf balls for the next person.

Monday: “none dare call them invisible.” That mystery title will make sense when you read the post.
Tuesday: the reality of living with and working with the poor is found only the scrum of contact. We’re getting close to the finish line in Pope Leo’s encyclical.
Wednesday: If Jesus is the way, truth, and life, then the devil’s work is divert Jesus from the way, impose death on those aiming for life, and propose falsehoods to the truth one finds in Jesus. Philip Ziegler’s newest is the basis for our post.
Thursday: Andrew Rillera’s book on atonement theory will be supplemented Thursday with a presentation on a new study by John Goldingay on Leviticus and atonement. Atonement matters because for many their atonement theory alone explains the gospel.

So grateful for your reading and work!
Looking forward to reading these
