We were in Denver for several days for the Society of Biblical Literature, along with some 8000 others (!), then Thanksgiving, so it’s not been easy to keep up but we have some good conversation starter this week, along with some brand new themes.

So, here we go:
Monday: we dive in with David Lamb to God’s emotion of anger.
Tuesday: we finish up Lisa Weaver Swartz’s important new book as we look at the formational power of stories.
Wednesday: we open up a conversation with Miroslav Volf and Ryan McAnnally-Linz about “home” as the theme of the Bible.
Thursday: a post on the three-year journey of translating the entire New Testament (ahem, Second Testament).

The Miroslav Volf one sounds good. I’ve gradually come to understand God’s kingdom as being like a banquet of different people enjoying a meal together, caring for each other, with God in our midst. Looking forward to adding to or adjusting this vision with Volf’s ideas.
