Some books I talk about here at Tov Unleashed are ones I can’t put down, but very rarely does that mean two posts in one week. But this is one of those rare weeks. Stained Glass Ceilings, by Lisa Weaver Swartz, is the book. While her book is about Southern and Asbury, I find it to be a book at far more than two institutions.
We will look at the Conservative Resurgence at Southern Seminary tomorrow, and this story is told as an extension of its Gospel story.
At “lives that matter” on Tuesday. The parable about the Samaritan includes more than one life. Those other lives, largely ignored, deserve some attention.
On Wednesday, at Southern Seminary’s (and other pockets in evangelicalism’s) “Godly Man” theory and set of images. This Godly Man theory is not just your old fashioned understanding of men, husbands, and fathers.
And, on Thursday I will present a Bible study from the Gospel of John.
If you want to be able to read all these Substacks, please…
Can't wait, especially for your take on the Godly man.
