We will begin this “Dream” week with:
The speech of Martin Luther King, Jr., in Washington DC on the Lincoln Mall: “I Have a Dream.” This is not just an amazing speech but an inspiring vision for what the USA can be.
Tuesday brings a reflection of mine on the great book by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together. The single book I have read more times than any theological book I have read.
Wednesday, we finish our series on reading the Bible with Jesus, once again turning to how Jesus sees himself in the pages of the Bible as he uses a common term and invests it with significance.
Miranda Zapor Cruz’s book continues to draw interest from you, our readers. Her next chp look at two (classical) Calvinist approaches to Christian engagement in politics. A book more and more churches would benefit from if they were to engage it over a period of six months. Political discipleship without taking a partisan stand is what this book offer, plus plenty of education about how various Christians have approached the topic.
