Our MA in New Testament cohorts visited Ephesus today, one of the most spectacular sites for NT studies.
We began the day at the top of Ephesus with Lynn Cohick talking us through the account of Paul in Ephesus in Acts 19.
The main road down in Ephesus is my favorite “biblical” street. The students loved it.
Above all, the Terrace Houses of the wealthy at the bottom of the above street is an eye-opener to life for the very very well-to-do. Layers and layers of home and frescos and ceramics and pools.
And what is Ephesus without its amazing theater overlooking the harbor and the agora. It seats some 24,000 and the stage was set for an upcoming concert.
Was just listening today to NT Wright’s biography of Paul and learning how it’s quite possible that Paul had some dark and imprisoned times in Ephesus. Would love to go there one day and see it. Thanks for sharing pics as your cohort travels!
Brings back fond memories from 2016 tour you led.
