John 14:1-14, from The Second Testament, due out in June.
Yēsous, the Path to the Father
14:1 Let your [pl.] heart not be agitated. Trust in God and trust in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have said to you that I journey to prepare a place for you? 3 If I journey and prepare a place for you, I come again and I will take you to myself so where I am you may also be 4 and where I go away, you know the path.
5 Thōmas says to him, “Lord, we do not know where you go away. How are we able to know the path?” 6 Yēsous says to him, “I am the Path and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you have known me, you will know my Father. From now you know him and have seen him.”
8 Philippos says to him, “Lord, exhibit for us the Father and it’s enough for us.” 9 Yēsous says to him,
I am with you for so much time and you have not known me, Philippos? The one who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Exhibit to us the Father’? 10 Do you not trust that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The utterances that I say to you I do not speak from myself but the Father remaining in me does his works. 11 Trust me that I am in the Father and the Father in me. If not, trust because of the works themselves.
12 This is especially true to say to you: The one trusting in me, that person will do the works that I do and will do greater than these, because I journey to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do so the Father may be splendored in the Son. 14 If you ask me for something in my name, I will do.
I keep reminding my wife that the timing of The Second Testament’s release is just right for Fathers Day.
