Yēsous with Martha and Mariam
38 In their journeying, he entered into some village. Some woman, by name Martha, welcomed him. 39 She had a sister named Mariam, and sitting alongside at the Lord’s feet, she was hearing his word.
40 Martha was annoyed over so much service. Standing over [him], she said, “Lord, is it not a concern for you that my sister abandoned me alone to serve? Therefore, tell her to assist me.”
41 The Lord, responding, said to her, “Martha Martha, you are disturbed and agitated over many things 42 but one is a need, for Mariam chose the good part, which will not be lifted away from her.”
