Here Comes Substack!
Kris and I are enjoying the summer-ish weather arriving, if rather slowly this year. One of Chicago’s weather forecasters predicted the temperatures will rise into the 80s by the end of the week. Hooray!

Here are some indicators of what will show up in your Inbox from this Substack:
Monday: a set of reflections on writing stirred by a splendid book about a writer’s desk, library, working space, and relationships.
Tuesday: Hannah King reframes Eucharist by reframing the meaning of salvation.
Wednesday: The Gospel of John is grabbing the center stage again, and three books reveal the plot and some of the drama.
Thursday: which Substacks do you read? I’ll give you a list of some of my favorites. When I wrote this post I was thinking at times of the old Blogroll column on blogs.

I read yours more than most. Geoff Holsclaw regularly. Listen to Ryan Burge. Kristin DuMez and The Convocation Unscripted (Robert Jones is another Christian data guy, Jemar Tisby is a civil rights expert.) Beth Allison Barr, she posts sparingly. Adam Kinzinger because he was on the Jan 6 Congressional Committee. Because of the gals I became aware of because you introduced them (Tov stories) I read all of them randomly. They are too much to read all of the all of the time. I listen as much as I read. Try recording! Substack is great, has great tools. Unless you want to let Nick Fuentes influence the world . . then it's terrible.
Looking forward to reading this week
