Looking Ahead, Peeking Back
This will be a special week at Tov Unleashed as we move from August into September.
We have a guest post on Monday about identifying a cult. I don’t know about you but I often hear people say of some church or group that “it’s a cult” or it’s “cult-like.” Amanda Montell wrote a piece lately advising us to use the term “cultish.” But we need some theological categories to discern this well and Monday will help us.
Tuesday I want to look at a new book that articulates what it means to be an “American” in a world that is not tied to WASP culture or some creed-like ideas but that respects the diversity of America. Join us for that conversation.
Wednesday we turn back to Martha Nussbaum and her definitional distinctions between sexism and misogyny, and I propose looking at something in between her definitions — and I turn to how complementarians fit into this set of definitions.
Thursday we will have a post about a new book that articulates 10 characteristics of organizations with women and men flourishing together. All it takes is to list the ten, to pause and think, and the stories should roll.
Friday — not sure yet.
Last week we looked at the four drives of a toxic leader, that sense of entitlement handed on to us in the WASP culture, at the generosity of Zacchaeus and that it was not that odd in Jewish culture to be uber-generous, and the 5 Things I want you to know (mentioning my new book).
