From The Second Testament
Acts 2:14a,
2:14 Petros, having stood with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and enunciated to them,
36 Therefore, let all Yisraēl’s house know assuredly that God made him Lord and Christos, this Yēsous whom you crucified.
Responding to Petros’ gospel
37 Hearing, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Petros and the remaining Comissioners, “What are we to do, siblings?” 38 Petros to them, “Convert, [he said], and each of you be dipped in Yēsous Christos’ name for release from your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the pledge is for you and your children and for all those far off, as many as the Lord our God calls. 40 He was witnessing with many other words and he was calling them, saying, “Be delivered from this crooked Generation!” 41 Therefore, those receiving his word were dipped and they added about 3000 selves on that day.
Amen and it is so.
Scot-
I really appreciate your translation. Would you please talk more about your incorporating words such as "release" and "delivered", as opposed to other translations (and why do you think they do not use such terms)? Thanks.
