Story Time and More!
Spring is fully present around here. The trees are full of leaves, buds popping open to reveal their flowers, grasses growing (along with some dandelions), and schools are turning toward summer.

We begin this week looking at the importance of stories, or narratives. The story we are most concerned with Monday is a religious story. In particular, the stories we are telling ourselves about who we are. Stories matter.
A pastor, in the middle of a crisis about what in the world he was doing in ministry, looked to the Bible for a person with whom he could identify. Join us Tuesday for his vulnerable reflections about which Bible character he chose and what it has meant for him.
We return to Miroslav Volf’s newest book, The Cost of Ambition, where Volf explores what it means for us to be people who strive for superiority. Take most any segment of society — church size, politics, ads about gardening tools, local school results — and you will find one of America’s throbbing, well, disease or sin or infection. What does this cost us?
Thursday we propose that the Book of Revelation was written for listeners, and that the ear makes the difference.
