Father in heaven,
who at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with the Holy Spirit:
Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldly confess him as Lord and Savior;
who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
I like this prayer but need to reword it a bit for my own use [because it doesn't make sense to me to say 'the' not 'your' of the Spirit plus 'Holy' confuses me; also what covenant did we make and if we did it's only in His power to keep it for us anyway; also what witness is better than a life lived for God; also asking for what we need is following Jesus' model of how to pray, also I don't feel like praising God right now] - "Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus into the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed him with Your Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized in His name will have all the strength and courage they need today to live for you, in such a way that their testimony of Jesus will be clear and evident to all; we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen
p.s. I am not opposed to worship, I just don't like having to include it in prayers - in fact at the moment I am listening to this (Crown Him with Many Crowns) https://youtu.be/hqy-gob13kA
