This Week

Kris and I are getting ourselves ready, which involves (as you may know) sporadic mental acts and writing down notes to make sure we pack all the right things, for a week in Nottingham England where I will be teaching a course for Westminster Theological Centre on Jesus and his kingdom vision. This will be the first time we are back in Nottingham since the oral defense of my thesis at Notts — and that occurred in the Spring of 1986. We will be flying in and out of Edinburgh, where we’ve never been, and there may be some golf planned in Scotland (a wink and a nod).
We will begin the week with a post with this title: “Jesus Was (not what we expected but…),” which introduces a brand new book by a room full of church leaders.
Then we will look at the “wall” Baptists articulated. But they now seem to want to dig holes through that wall … join us Tuesday.
Jesus was for justice, and justice and Jesus belong together, but a new book contends many Christians have disconnected Jesus from his message about justice.
The New Testament presents to its readers a cross-shaped imagination that has the power to work into the daily life of every Christian.

Safe travels. Enjoy.
Enjoy and looking forward to reading these
