Triumphal Entry
Yēsous enters Yierosoluma (Luke 19:29-40)
29 It happened as he was getting close to Bēth-Phagē and Bēth-Ania, to the mountain called “Of the Olives” [Mount Olivet], he commissioned two of his apprentices, 30 saying, “Go away into the village opposite [of you], in which, journeying into, you will find a tied-up foal, upon which no human has ever sat and, loosening it, lead [it to me]. 31 If someone asks you, ‘Why are you loosening?’ Say thus ‘That the Lord has a need for it’.” 32 Departing, the commissioned ones found [it] as he said to them. 33 They’re loosening the foal… Its lords said to them, ‘Why are you loosening the foal?’ 34 They said, ‘Because the Lord has a need for it.’ 35 They led it to Yēsous and, throwing their robes on the foal, they sat Yēsous on it. 36 He’s journeying … they were spreading their robes in the path. 37 He’s already getting close to the descent of the mountain of olives … The whole mass of apprentices, rejoicing, began to praise God in a great voice for all the powers they saw, 38 saying,
God is blessing the One Coming, the King, in name of Lord.
Peace in heaven and splendor in the highest levels.
39 Some of the Observant from the crowds said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your apprentices!” 40 Responding, he said, “I say this to you: If these will be silent, the stones will cry out.”
