I’m grateful for the ease of how Substack works. Adding Substacks to your daily or weekly readings is a way of staying up with budding and veteran writers. Which Substacks do you follow?
Monday: I begin a new book this week. The authors are Andrew Root and Blair Bertrand, When Church Stops Working. This book pulls together insights from Root’s 3-volume study of the impact of the secular age on pastoral ministry.
Tuesday: the spread of premillennialism, the sprawl of premillennialism, and how the Scofield Bible expanded the impact of the dispensationalism. Join us.
Wednesday: Total Women who took issue with Marabel Morgan’s “Total woman.” The silencing, the speaking, and the silencing of evangelical feminists. We turn again to Isaac Sharp’s wonderful new book.
Thursday: another new book, fresh out this week. Robert Chao Romero and Jeff M. Liou, Christianity and Critical Race Theory. They subtitle their book A Faithful and Constructive Conversation — since so many have proclaimed so many falsehoods about critical theory.
Join us and subscribe if you want to participate in these conversations.
I’m excited to hear about the CRT book! Jeff Liou is a friend of mine from seminary, and I can’t wait to hear more about his work with Romero. Much needed.
which substacks? I stated with Diana Butler Bass. Then Beth Allison Barr and Kristin Du Mez. Then you, Todd Hunter, Gene Maynard and Geoff Holsclaw. Everyone points to more and more people! Too much :/
