Most will now know that I am moving some of the content that would normally be on the Jesus Creed blog to my Newsletter, Tov Unleashed, at Substack. I will continue posting at Jesus Creed but Tov Unleashed will contain fresh content.
The content on the Newsletter will be focused on pastors and students and the so-called “informed layperson.” I have not been contented with the lack of community that forms in last few iterations of my blog and Substack provides a much better opportunity for conversations.
What will be in the Newsletter? The longer series on books (like the current one by William Witt, Icons of Christ) but also some newer initiatives: ideas I’m developing in new books, sermons, lectures from my classes, as well as some creative moments that can develop conversation. Some upcoming books include Beth Allison Barr’s The Making of Biblical Womanhood and Ryan Burge’s The Nones. I look forward to your suggestions as well.
Conversation matters and the current arrangement where the conversation is shifted to the Facebook page disappoints. More than once I’ve heard one of the readers opine, “Bring back the old blog days when the conversation was flowing!” For sure. Tov Unleashed will seek to create a community.
Of course, Substack designs its site for subscribers and we will soon be moving the major content from free to paid (at only $5 per month) but we will always have some free content too. I encourage you to subscribe (it’s free for now).
I'm so glad we can have a conversation right here on the page. Looking forward to this.
Nice! Perhaps a touch of the One T Saloon again.
