Beth Barr was recently at Northern Seminary. She gave a wonderful talk, weaving in an episode of “Designing Women.” Which led Kris and me to watch the entire episode3, which made Beth’s talk even better. Thank you Beth Barr for gracing our students with your presence and talk.
Couple of things . . this message of "they can't see" unbiblical practices that are integrated so deeply into the SYSTEM, literally can't be seen and needs to be named. Don't be niave, you will experience discomfort. It's part of your transformation WITH God. It's Phil 3:10-11. You want to experience the sufferings of Christ? That pain is what this is. I appreciated hearing this reality in Scott & Laura's recent podcast about their new book Pivot, and I appreciate it being brought up here again.
The other thing is, Beth, you are a whistleblower. I doubt it's a word you have applied to yourself. Suggest you get in touch with Frances Haugen for a partner in this work of recognizing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnGFbq8RJ9U
