From The Second Testament, Romans 8:12-25
12 Accordingly therefore, siblings, we are debtors—not to the Flesh to live consistent with Flesh . . . 13 for if you live consistent with Flesh, you are about to die. But if in Spirit you kill the Body’s practices, you will live. 14 For whoever is led by God’s Spirit—these are God’s descendants! 15 For you did not receive slavery’s spirit again into being scared, but you received family-placement’s Spirit, in whom we cry, “Abba, Father!” 16 This same Spirit co-witnesses with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 If children, also heirs—God’s heirs, co-heirs with Christos—since we co-suffer so may we be co-splendored.
18 For I calculate that the sufferings of the present season are not deserving of the coming splendor to be apocalypsed to us. 19 For creation’s impatient expectation awaits the apocalypse of God’s descendants. 20 For creation was ordered under idleness—not willingly but because of The Orderer—in hope 21 that creation itself will be liberated from decay’s slavery into God’s children’s splendorous liberation! 22 For we know that all creation co-groans and co-labors until now, 23 but not only that but also we ourselves—ones having the Spirit as firstfruit—we ourselves groan among ourselves, impatiently waiting family placement, our body’s redemption. 24 For we were delivered in hope, but hope seen isn’t hope—for who hopes for what one sees? 25 But if we hope for what we don’t see, we impatiently wait through resilience.
Amen
“Creation was ordered under idleness” really sticks out to me! This is my favorite chapter in the Bible, and I love this fresh reading of it. Thank you.
