Yes, Thank You! Scot! Great “brain yeast” to cause thought to expand! Even just this post will make a great study catalyst!
- What happens when different kingdoms are all playing around the mosh pit?
- How can we steer Jesus’ Kingdom (the people believing in, and identifying with Jesus’ Kingdom) to a better understanding of our place among the kingdoms on this planet?
What would another name for Jesus better kind of kingdom be?
Yes! The first paragraph of this post is noteworthy. A sense of knowing Jesus’ Kingdom, and applying your great Mark’s of Jesus Kingdom to what we do! And, as I sit on my back patio, drinking coffee and reading, I can’t escape the experience of humidity. Jesus’ Kingdom is something we can’t help but feel. The characteristics of Jesus’ Kingdom help create the “Jesus Humidity” through which we experience Jesus’ water of life!
As a pastor of a local church, this continues to be an area where there is no rest from a continual pointing to the antithetical ways of the “Constantine Temptation,” from the Kingdom of God. Thank you for this!! So helpful and true!!
This is the first book by Scot I read and many of the ideas I had, conformed to the world, were challenged. Love it
Cool to hear that, Julie.

That there are different kingdoms calls for an anti-Constantine approach.

I agree, Chris. And it's not better today than fifty years ago.
Well said, thank you Scott.
I agree that the American church difficulty is the Constantine Temptation.
Thanks.
Still my favorite Scot McKnight book… and in my opinion the most relevant for this moment.
So well stated, thank you!
I have never heard it laid out like this. I haven't read this book, but I will now. Thank you for this reminder.
