I look forward to these meanderings each week. Signs of spring around here included the orioles returning, evening and other grosbeaks, and mushrooms in the woods. As to Mother's Day, thanks for encouraging honoring women in various circumstances. We all likely know someone for whom church that day can be faced with apprehension.
My dad had a guy who worked for him for many years. This man signed his paycheck with an “X” because he couldn’t read or write. BUT, during the sixties and seventies, his other job was as the fixit guy for a local shop that sold pinball machine, etc. If any machine had a problem, he could fix it! He couldn’t read, but he could look at a wiring diagram and and see the pattern on the circuit board as easily as any of us could spell “dog!” He could do almost anything with his hands. And, you didn’t want to play against him with any of the electronic games of that time! Thank for the brain yeast!
