Photo by Caleb George on Unsplash Watch for turtles: LAKE COUNTY, IL — Lake County Forest Preserve officials are asking drivers to be on the lookout for turtles crossing the road in the coming weeks. In late May and early June, turtles leave their aquatic habitat near lakes, wetlands and streams and head to drier areas to lay eggs.

It is just one sentence: "A well regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Her walk though of the history was enlightening and helpful to me, as is the plea of Charlie Dates.
