Thank you for your work. I started listening to the podcasts you linked in Part 1. Everytime I dip back into this subject, it expands my perception about how big and deep, far reaching this evil is. How the Gospel has been missed by the teachers. And how bad teaching perpetuates bad teaching. Listening to you and your responses to leaders in your abuse experience, you are applying Col 3:1-17 and 2 Peter 1:3. But their responses seem completely unaware of this Scripture. Their heart is not interested in change or health. I understand the perpetrator would have cultivated unhealthy people to support his agenda.
I do think that much of this experience into healing is very much alone. We are designed for connection, and why evil has so much success. Unhealthy people have an excesive need/demand for connection. We go to a church with the expectation that we will find goodness in church. Naively seduced, the system promising belonging, not understanding the true meaning of healthy belonging includes rupture and repair of rupture. Surrender is NOT swallowing your complaint. Silence does not burn off that energy. But so few people have consciously and reflectively done the work you propose, there are few to talk to. Maybe you are part of the critical mass to change that.
This document is important for the individual not understanding what has happened to her/him. Praying God will lead people to your work. Restoration is slow and long. As you well know.
Thank you Scott for sharing this important information.
