Scot I am wondering if you are familiar with the podcast series that came out in March of this year entitled, “Charismatic Revival Fury, The New Apostolic Reformation”. I thought this series did a great job outlining NAR’s influence in politics and the Trump administration. This expose overlaps with the NAR’s influence on the January 6th insurgency.
Michael, I have not heard of this podcast series. Thank you. The author of the book "Strange Worship" mentions some of the names in that podcast series, and refers to it in his bibliography.
I have listened to this podcast documentary. It pertains mainly to the Charismatic stream of CN. There are other streams such as the Doug Wilson stream, the Catholic stream, the Evangelical stream. I've been aware for sometime as they are also very patriarchial--more or less.
I have a close family member that reads prophecies often and is part of the apostolic tradition. Some really believe that what they are hearing and learning is directly from God. At times it makes me so angry but other times it just makes me really sad. Caleb Campbells book Disarming Leviathan was really helpful too.
My family is mostly embedded in this world. I married someone who was raised Mennonite and the way his family views the US, and government in general, was eye-opening.
I'm wondering if John Howard Yoder needs to be a conversation partner here; especially his "Discipleship as Political Responsibility." Despite some of his personal failings, I believe that Yoder provides an excellent alternative to CN for Christians.

Thanks, but I will not discuss JHY on this Substack. I do read and at times discuss Trocme, from whom he got some seminal ideas.
