An exciting week for me. I begin teaching, with Lynn Cohick, a new DMin cohort at Houston Theological Seminary. Our first day will be at Lanier Theological Library, which is beyond cool, and the cohort has 22 students. This seminar is about the Kingdom of God.

There are no breaks on this Substack, so here’s what’s coming this week:
Who are the people who are called to live like Christians in a context that challenged them to cave in? Join us Monday.
Why does Drew Strait call it “strange worship”? On Tuesday we begin a series on Drew’s new book about Christian nationalism’s growing influence in the USA. Practical, accessible, and clear-thinking.
Sexism is not new. Wednesday we look at the challenges of sexism in church history with clear visions of those who resisted as Christian dissidents to sexism.
When Christian language itself bubbles up into bad memories. How does one thinker adjust herself to Christian vocabulary that has at times lost its potency?
