How does one respond to a volume of essays by one’s friends written in tribute to me? I know I can’t respond adequately to the honor or express my gratitude deeply enough for the gift of this book, Living the King Jesus Gospel. I knew nothing about this book, and not a few of the authors have chuckled about how they have kept it a secret for two years. Not one leak.
I was so happy to see this on twitter. Incidentally I got my copy of King Jesus Gospel yesterday and woke up to this article! I have been amazed at how you stay out of the fray of evangelical celebrity, so I think this is going to be an important book for anyone who anticipates going into ministry. I like reading essays, so I will definitely get a copy to share with friends to discuss.
This is a well-deserved honor and I hope more 'everyday people' (lay-people) like me take notice of your work as a result. You are an asset to the church, a stable voice in the storm.

I love that Tara Beth Leach and Nancy Ortberg and the other women are included too. Your writings on women have been particularly helpful to many women and men I know on the mission field, in seminaries and in churches.
