On a recent re-read through the Revelation, I chose to read but slide by all those creatures and events, preferring to settle down with the conclusion of the book. Your post above was greatly helpful in refusing to attach persons and events to single individuals, but to much broader associations. Now I know I'll have to buy the book...

I'm now in the middle of settling back in Massachusetts (though for the moment I'm in Virginia waiting for access to an apartment in Brooksby Village).
