Substack posts like this that make me smile and think like a sunflower - thoughts that turn toward the light.
Smart phone keypads that are smart enough too recognize that it’s my thumb typing.
Music through my earbuds.
Smart comedy that makes me laugh out loud. (Even if it’s underlying message of truth is Christlike and upsets people with the truth.)
During quiet prayer in church, the spontaneous whispered prayers of people who let The Spirit have quiet prayerful conversations.
Seeing people I don’t know, or do know, when they meet someone with a heartfelt handshake, hug. Smile, and/or words that are full of kindness and happiness.
The sound of a train, in the distance or a block away.
A fun post that immediately brought to mind the words of an old Tom T. Hall song called "I Love." I wasn't a fan of his singing, but I love the words to his song:
I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks
Slow movin' trains and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams
Sunday school in May and hay
And I love you too
I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends
Birds of the world and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups
Bourbon in a glass and grass
And I love you too
I love honest open smiles, kisses from a child
Tomatoes on the vine and onions
I love winners when they cry
Losers when they try, music when it's good
And life
And I love you too
And I will add just a few likes. I like:
-FaceTimes with our daughter who is in college a couple of states away.
-Seeing and hearing our daughter's fun bantering with her friends as we're on FaceTime.
-Pie. (My wife is an amazing baker and cook and her pie crust is next level. I can hardly wait for November and my birthday apple pie).

You (yes, even you!
Ahhh thank you Scott
What do we like
The purr of our cats
The smiling face of our Samoyed
The birds singing in the morning
The crazy laughter of the neighbors children
The sound of the piano as my wife plays
The sound of my guitar as I plug away at the music I know
The smell of the ocean.
First cup of coffee, first sips of coffee.
The morning hug and kiss from my wife and Mochi (our dog).
The words of scripture and Oswald Chambers to lead into the day.
Walking with wife and Mochi.
Standing in a river waving a long, skinny stick.
Having a big trout connected to the stick (to be released!).
Hot air balloons over the valley as the sun rises.
So much more! Thank you, Scot for reminding us!
