John 20:1-18 (my translation) Yēsous raised 20:1 On the first day of the Sabbaths, Maria the Magdalēnē, comes early … being still darkness … to the tomb and sees the stone having been lifted from the tomb. 2 Therefore, she runs and comes to Simōn Petros and to the other apprentice whom Yēsous was loving, and says to them, “They lifted the Lord from the tomb and we do not know where they placed him.” 3 Therefore, Petros exited and the other apprentice, and they were coming to the tomb. 4 The two were running together and the other apprentice ran quickly ahead of Petros and came first to the tomb. 5 Peering, he sees linen cloths laid out, nevertheless he did not enter. 6 Therefore, Simōn Petros comes following him and entered into the tomb and observes the linen cloths laid out, 7 and the kerchief, which was on his head, not laid out with the linen cloths but apart, wrapped up in one place. 8 Therefore, then also the other apprentice, who came first to the tomb, entered and he saw and trusted. (9 For he had not yet known the writing that it’s necessary for him to arise from among the dead ones.) 10 Therefore, the apprentices departed again to them [their homes].
